About Our Presenters
Amber Degelia has joined MAGNET as the Clinical Trial Manager for the multi-site Hearts and Minds Trial investigating the potential benefits of metformin and atorvastatin for the treatment of depression. Amber has over 20 years’ experience in commercially sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials in Haematology, Oncology, Cardiology and Orthopaedics. Amber previously worked as a project manager for Monash University’s Transfusion Research Unit and holds an honours degree in biological sciences and genetics from the University of California Irvine.
Dr Karyn Richardson is a registered psychologist and clinical researcher with over 10 years’ experience leading investigator-initiated clinical trials across university, healthcare, and government settings. She has expertise in behavioural, lifestyle, pharmacological, and device-based mental health interventions, with a strong focus on clinical trial governance, implementation science, and participant-centred research. Karyn currently works as Clinical Trial Manager at the Food & Mood Centre, and School of Psychology, where she leads the HARMON-E an CALM-kids lifestyle interventions. She has previously held senior research and leadership roles at Monash University BrainPark, the Epworth Centre for Innovation in Mental Health, and the Victorian Government Behavioural Insights Unit.
