For too long, mental health clinical trials have been small scale – including only small numbers of people. MAGNET facilitates multi-site collaboration opportunities; enabling clinical trials to scale-up recruitment and reach new communities.
Australia’s mental health crisis requires a collaborative approach to improve the lives of those living with a mental illness. MAGNET is a new phase in Australian mental health.
We are a nationwide system of over 100 world-leading representatives from mental health institutions, health services, industry bodies and consumer groups. Our members include researchers, carers, insurers, lived-experience experts, and First Nations representatives.
Find out who we are and who we work with.
This national network will empower Australian researchers working on mental health to launch the large-scale, definitive studies needed to deliver the clinical evidence that will change practice, improve treatments, and enable better patient care.
We put people with lived experience of mental health conditions at the centre of our research efforts.
MAGNET’s clinical trial endorsement processes will strengthen mental health research in Australia and encourage collaboration, innovation, and advancement.
All MAGNET members and endorsed trials will have access to MAGNET platform resources and will be supported by MAGNET member expertise, from grant writing and submission stages to research publication and translation.
Our Platforms
We are building a reusable, sustainable, shared infrastructure that improves clinical trial quality and feasibility both nationally and globally. We aim to achieve this with six unique platforms, designed to help establish, coordinate and standardise clinical trials across Australia.
